Hi, I'm Lauren and I am the creator of FIN & NOX.
I have a BAhons degree in Textile Crafts that I studied at Huddersfield University, the home and heart of many of the first Textile Factories. I specialised in textile art embroidery, and have always been fascinated with anything embellished!
Before uni, I did an art foundation year at southport college which is where my love for 3d textiles really grew. The support and guidance from the teachers there was amazing.
I lost touch with my creative side after uni and went into retail management after realising internships in London weren't getting me anywhere.
After being made redundant from my retail management job in lockdown (whilst on maternity leave with my 2nd child) I began to pick up where I left off and started creating unique pieces of art, zoning in on macrame rainbows- even after saying I didn't think I'd carry on with them after my first try. Being creative in such an uncertain time really helped me mentally.
After much practice, trial and error, I began to make pieces I was happy enough to share with the world and sell- my friends and family being my first customers, and biggest fans, supporting my new journey ♡ this then grew to friends of friends and building up my instagram to reach new people.
The past 6 years I have dabbled into many creative outlets such as dyeing my own fibres, scrunchie making, Jewellery and many different Embellished Ornaments. I now focus on creating Unique DIY Bead Embroidery Kits for Adults so you can make your own special pieces too.
Knowing first hand the positive effect creating can have, i wanted to be able to share this with the world!
